A raw diet

The nutritional requirements of cats and dogs vary considerably.

The best diets for both dogs and cats are natural ones, coming as close as possible to the diet they would eat in the wild. Cats are naturally carnivorous and have a high protein requirement, while dogs tend to be more scavenging and eat more of a variety of foods, requiring less protein than cats.

IMPORTANT : Cats have a need for a particular amino acid called Taurine. If you are considering a raw diet for your pet and do not want to use our products and develop your own system it is vital to make sure you include a source of Taurine. This can be bought in health food shops.

There is another benefit to making your own pet food - a benefit for you. Many people are now aware of some of the cruel and heartless practices that go on in the factory production of meat. Some, as a result, opt out of this system and become vegetarian. Many others continue to eat meat but make sure that is produced in a system that is as far as possible, cruelty free. By making your own pet food, you are able to extend these moral decisions to include your pet. Sourcing free range meat is not as expensive as it once was and it is an area of meat retailing that is growing rapidly.
